today, we headed east 330 miles on rt 40 to albuquerque new mexico! it was a long day on the road, but we had a stop or two for silliness:
this is real petrified wood! it was pretty cool, yep.
and…we caught a tumbleweed on vi-vi-video! check it out, it’s so cute!
we are really officially on the way home, as we crossed the continental divide (again)!
the marker is just off the highway, and across a little road from this guy’s driveway. i think he’s serious about keeping folks away from his drive :o)
tonight, we got a cheap hotel room in albuquerque because we both really needed to shower!!! i spent the evening figuring our next week or so on the road. so much to see, so little time left! tomorrow we will see old town albuquerque, petroglyphs national monument, and head east towards tucumari to see some rt 66 memorabilia. along the way we plan to stop and see the rt 66 automobile museum!
