17 mile drive, carmel, & fisherman’s wharf

monday, november 2, 2009

another busy day with so much to see!!

we drove down 17 mile drive, which is a section of highway that goes along the shore and through some pretty lala neighborhoods and golf courses (like pebble beach).  (here is a link to a video that was too big to post)

and…the lone cypress is there!

IMG_3298                                                the ghost tree (i think)

or was this the ghost tree?

the 17 mile drive ends up in carmel, where we stayed for a little bit and had chocolate macaroons!

thanks to doc for doing all the driving.  after driving 5-6000 miles, you REALLY appreciate someone else at the wheel!!

dinner was at fisherman’s wharf – clam chowder of course and seal/pelican watching :o)

then it was back to cannery row for more fun at sly mcfly’s :o) and yes, derek was there.  the bartender – erin (?) was closing early (11:30) and invited us to follow him over to the bulldog saloon.  so we did. and derek was there :o)

what fun!  it was this guy named al’s birthday and he passed the torch to me after midnight.  there was even dancing on the bar (al, not me - hahahaha) then back to the inn to have a bath and cuddle in – what a day!
