lee vinning, sierra nevada mountains, & yosemite

after the checkpoint, we drove past some of the sierra nevada mountains (the matterhorn!) and into lee vinning.

poppy had said there is a mobil gas station there that has a restaurant.  not just a snack shop, but an actual restaurant.  it’s true, and we stopped and had lunch there – carnitas tacos with black beans – yummo!

after lunch, take a left and onto yosemite!  yosemite is really very pretty, but a lot of driving through the park and mountains made for a very long day  (+/-80 miles). and, that parks pass has paid for itself, by the way.,  it costs $50 a carload to go through – whew!

after yosemite, we drove west and decided to settle in at the ewpl in fresno/clovis.  tomorrow we head south and maybe east towards the mojave desert.
