into south dakota!

after leaving pipestone, we crossed into south dakota and splurged (only$33) on a great room at an awesome hotel called

the new landMARK country inn in murdo south dakota.  the owners were SO nice.  they gave us the cheapest room they had, which was a shared bathroom room.  we had 2 beds, but had to go into the hallway and shared the bathroom/shower with our neighbor.  they had a pool that was open until midnight.  i explained that i didnt have a bathing suit, and he said “no problem! people leave them here all the time, and the staff washes them every day.  there is a set of drawers in the breakfast room that you can borrow anything from!”  i kid you not.  sure enough, in the breakfast room (continental breakfast included) was a bin of washed bathing suits.  i wont mention what i had to wear, but i had something to wear!! and julia and i went swimming! yep.

driving into south dakota, i witnessed the most beautiful sunset ever.  i believe everyone should see a south dakota sunset before they die:

and now, we are on our way to pine ridge reservation to see willie!!
