was to be the first day of the road trip... but alas! a snafu has met us on our way...
not to worry, we are well, just a paperwork/money delay...
c'est la vie. lesson here is to slow down and take a few days to ponder. so ponder i will.
but, to catch up on the past couple of weeks:
we had a nice breakfast with chuck & kenny to say goodbye on thursday the 20th.... we'll be back in a few months :o)
then, it was off to see carol and sean and jamie in BRICK nj. niiiiiiiiiiiiiice place!! what!!? a tiki bar?? :o) sanks for the hospitality!! and the margaritas!
a sleepover, then off to see dad and mary in west paterson. julia and i enjoyed a nice visit and lunch. we now have a garmin and a noaa weather radio & then some. thanks dad & mary!!! now, we shouldnt get lost, or run into a tornado or something.
leaving dad's on friday the 21st took us to "a backed up/closed due to mortal accident on" I81, which took us forever to get where we were heading. tired of driving and a battle with a semi truck in the bluemountain tunnel (!!) was truely a challenge. so, we sat in sheetz in breezewood and watched the travelers as we relaxed and ate supper. sheetz truely is the shiz.
but we got to 4Q without incident, ready for Stones Intensive. julia rocked the kitchen with ariel through the whole intensive and Stones proper.
cook them eggs!
the next generation, yep.
Stones Rising this year was sweet and simple. at about 200 attending, we offloaded many new stones from the quarry (thanks generous donors!!!), and all were happy to have a stone to pull. the ceremonials were inspiring and gave everyone things to think about. i was happy to pass the apron to nora so she could organize the Loaves of the Corn Mothers next year and then some. the kids did lots of great things, and everyone had a glow of happiness about them...
i thank god for pam alexander in my life. because of her, i am able to see my daughter in a whole new light. during the Rising, pam, robin, and i washed our daughter's hands for the Libation, signifying the passing of responsibilities from our generation to theirs. proud momies, we are. capable daughters, they are. indeed.
the pull!!!
the Western Gate is complete!
the Circle is happy, i feel.
so now i begin my sit still and wait time. the lesson is to slow down, and stop feeling like there has to be a plan. there is a plan, but it's a free-flowing kinda fing.
and that's a good thing :o)
we should be on the road towards pittsburgh by monday the 14th. cant wait to see my ava & mickie mick!!
besides...the Land is beautiful this time of year, and i am happy to be here. :o)
